Estela Casas Joins Foundation Team

Leadership at the UMC Foundation and El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation has a familiar face at the helm, beginning this week, as Estela Casas has arrived and is settling in to her offices at El Convento (next to Loretto Academy).

“I am excited to begin this new chapter of my career,” said Estela. “There are many needs in our community and I will ask for your help to make our community a better place to live and thrive.”

Estela will lead a team of passionate individuals to assist cancer fighters and their families and implement programs that support better health and provide much needed equipment at both El Paso Children's Hospital and University Medical Center of El Paso.

Estela joins both foundations after more than three decades in English and Spanish language news media.

A word from Estela...

I am happy to announce that I've accepted the Executive Director position at the University Medical Center and El Paso Children's Hospital Foundations.

My tenure at KVIA-TV ended January 6, 2020 with a  stirring and sentimental farewell. I am continuing my mission to raise awareness and money for cancer fighters like me, to live a life of purpose through the Stand with Estela Fund and the Estela Casas Infusion Center for Hope and Healing at University Medical Center.

As I close this monumental chapter as a news anchor in English and Spanish language television news, I am excited and energized to begin this new chapter as Executive Director of the University Medical Center Foundation and El Paso Children's Hospital Foundation (UMC Foundation), a component organization of the El Paso County Hospital District.

I am excited to work with a team who shares my passion to heal, serve and educate. There are many projects underway and so many more ahead to continue growing the foundations to benefit the under-insured and under-served in our community. UMC Foundation donors have the power to improve patient experience, impact physician recruitment and advance medical care. Our team will execute major fundraising campaigns that will assist cancer victims and their families with programs that support better health.

Thank you for going on this journey with me and I invite you to continue walking alongside me on this new path as we refresh, revitalize and respond to our El Paso community.

Want to talk to me about this remarkable new chapter? I am available at 915-487-7987, estela.casas@umcelpaso.org. You are a part of this magic. I'm ready to hear your thoughts.
