El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation Honored with Sunflower Bank’s 2025 Lives We Touch AwarD

The El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation has been named the recipient of Sunflower Bank’s 2025 Lives We Touch Award, part of the bank’s Community Partner Awards program. This recognition comes with a $5,000 grant honoring the Foundation’s commitment to advancing pediatric health equity across the Paso del Norte region.

“This award affirms the power of strategic philanthropy to transform lives,” said Abigail Tarango, Executive Director of El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are honored to be recognized for work that centers dignity, access, and the healing of our region’s children.”

The Foundation serves as the philanthropic engine behind El Paso Children’s Hospital driving its ability to deliver responsive, high-quality care to children and families across a 350-mile radius. Through donor generosity, EPCHF helps fund essential personnel such as diabetes educators, oncology navigators, and trauma recovery specialists roles that often rely on philanthropic support to remain sustainable.

Beyond hospital walls, the Foundation’s impact extends into underserved and rural communities, helping EPCH strengthen a regional pediatric system of care. By partnering with local organizations, corporate sponsors, and grantmakers, the Foundation broadens access to vital health and human services for families who need them most.

From direct family assistance through the Compassionate Care Program (supported by a grant from Becton, Dickinson and Company) to community-driven fundraisers like Blooms & Brushstrokes, Partee for a Purpose, and the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon, EPCHF fuels a network of hope and healing. These efforts sustain lifesaving equipment, Child Life Specialists, and Healing Arts Programs, all essential to a child’s recovery journey.

Sunflower Bank’s recognition underscores EPCHF’s reputation as a trusted steward of pediatric philanthropy, an organization deeply committed to creating healthier futures for children, empowering families, and strengthening the systems that sustain El Paso’s youngest patients.
